CAN YOU DO SOMETHING TO 'ACT FOR ANIMALS' ?

Around the world, wildlife is dwindling at an alarming rate as it faces climate change, the biodiversity crisis, habitat loss, disrupted ecosystems and species loss. Today, 21st September 2023, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) has recently launched its '1 Million Actions' campaign. The campaign aims to inspire a collective effort from around the globe to complete 1 million actions to help animals, the environment and, ultimately our world.

To support this effort, the international charity whose mission is to help animals and people thrive together, has created a fun guide of activities anyone can try - no matter where they live or how old they are.

Lizzie Daly, wildlife biologist and supporter of the '1 Million Actions' campaign said: "It's great to be part of the campaign. Right now, wildlife and nature need our help. You don't need to be a wildlife expert to make a difference. Collectively, we can all pull together and start protecting, nurturing, and conserving our species for the future." She added: "Whether it's a tiny action, or a sizeable dedication such as the nominees of the Animal Action Awards - everyone can make a positive difference and be an animal action hero."

The Actions for Animals Guide, featuring 50 simple actions fostering coexistence between animals and people, draws from expertise within IFAW, animal-loving celebrities, and dedicated individuals within the global conservation and animal welfare community. You can download the simple guide HERE and if you're on social media you can share your action with the hashtag #1MillionActions, in order to inspire others to take part too.
