SOUND RECORDIST TAKES YOU AROUND THE WORLD

Often when we take a break and visit a different shore for our holidays, it's the sound of nature that let's us know we've arrived - the rush of the ocean, or the different insect, bird and mammal calls. For those of us who aren't going anywhere (and may be missing the end of Aussie tv soap Neighbours), I came across Wild Ambience, described as 'pure sounds from wild spaces' formed by Sydney based nature sound recordist Marc Anderson who says his passion is finding 'pristine, wild, sound.'

Normally his focus is on Australian wildlife and birds, but he's also recorded soundscapes from across Asia and Europe and his work is used in wildlife documentaries, films, musical compositions etc. He says, "I love listening to and recording the sounds of biodiversity - from vibrant habitat soundscapes to the sounds of individual species. Wild Ambience is my way of sharing what I hear with the world."

Having published over 40 albums since 2011 from a wild, melodic dawn chorus from lowland rainforest in New Guinea to an undisturbed tropical rainforest in Borneo, to nocturnal recordings of Australian Magpies singing under a fool moon - his soundscapes are realistic and immersive experiences. You can lose yourself HERE whilst sampling the sounds in and around a lovely cooling Tasmanian stream below:-
